How Modern Family should End It's Final Season

Image
Modern Family is currently in it's 10th season.  Season 11 will be it's last, for Modern Family to have the legacy it's craving, it will have to end it's final season on a high note. The show has dropped dramatically the past few years, but a saving grace for Modern Family could be the route they decided to go for it's finale season. They have so many Options,  for the way they can take the show, they need to be true to the Characters and not have some sort of twist ending or melodramatic ending. As Tim from the UK Office once said,  "If you turn the camera's off I'm still here" This is the way Modern Family should go, in the real world these people will still exist. So here is how I would like the story lines to go..... Cam and Mitch and Lily Cam and Mitch  lifes should revovle around Lily, Lily has taken an interest in music, so the family arc  should be  Mitch and Cam do everything they can to try and help Lily's sudden interest in Music, Mi...

Modern Family Should Learn from Gervais's After Life

Image
Modern Family writer's may want to take a look at Ricky Gervais's  After Life on how to write for younger actors. Pictured is the wonderful  Tommy Finnegan who played George, the nephew of  Gervais's Tony Johnson. Tommy played George, like a normal seven year kid, quite shy, the kid was a cheerful kid who had to deal with a bully. There was a natural acting ability from Tommy in his portrayal of George and that came from the writing and directing. The same can't be said from the last few seasons of Modern Family. Modern family's first few seasons were up there with the very best of  Television,  MASH Seinfeld and The Office. The last three season though are more on the level of Mrs  Brown's Boys and the worse of Everybody Loves Raymond. One of the reason why Modern Family is struggling  now is the writing for and the directing of child actor,  Jeremy Maguire who plays Joe. The actor  thru no fault off his own comes off as a Child actor and no...

Better Call Saul

Image
Saul Goodman is born. The finale of season 4 of Better Call Saul, saw the birth of Saul Goodman and  thus became one of the biggest heartbreaking moments in TV history. Feel so so gutted for Kim, the man she loved, the man she thought was finally coming to terms with his emotions was in fact just a con artist. Tonights's episode was the birth of Saul and the death of Jimmy and Kim. We know where Saul ends up, as a  manager of a Cinnabon, but what happens after that will be revealed in Season Five, which is expected to be the last season, I cannot see two more seasons, and I cant see that there is going to be  a fairytale ending for Gene and Kim. I would like there to be, I would like the very final episode to be  Kim walking into the Cinnamon store, taking Jimmy by the hand and walking off into the sunset, but somehow that seems unrealistic. Vince Gillian loves Redemption, so there may be yet a happy ending for Jimmy, but with the choices Saul has made, it may take a...

Modern Family Review: Season 10 Episode 2: Kiss and Tell

Image
A Massive improvement  on the first episode of the new season. No comparison at all, this was like the hey day of Modern Family. Let me just say, Dylan makes everything better, his line to Hayley was heartfelt and sweet, he may not be the brightest of them all, but he is sincere. Then there is  Cam's line to Mitch about Pepper, even the mere mention of Pepper makes any episode better. Glad to see Alex and Manny doing well and not given some sad sad story line. Top that off, with Phil being a mean girl to Jay, only to learn that Jay actually respects him, was a super cool moment. I only hope more episodes in this finale season will be like this one. Time will tell.

Modern Family: Season 10 Episode 1: Review

Image
Never in the History of television has a show fallen from grace as much as Modern Family. The opening episode of Season 10 was as bad as television can get. There was no growth for any of them, the acting was so over the top, that it was at the cringe worthy stage. Who the hell did the make up for Hayley, she is a 26 year old woman, and it was like it was the first time she has ever put on lipstick. We had Julie Bowen, way over acting as Claire being a couch potatoe, we had Disney making sure that Ariel would be covered up because Disney girls apparently  don't have breasts, I wonder why Ariel Winter doesn't have a word to them about body shaming,  I guess her pay cheques comfort her. Then we had the storyline of Manny for some reason, has a fear of driving over bridges. The less said about  dressing up Jay in an outrageous outfit the better,  the hotdog eating competition didn't work, the only saving grace was the only part about Modern Family that still works,...

Worst PhotoShop in the History of the Internet

Image
Disney is a multi Billion trillion dollar company, yet they can't even do the most simple photoshop for their promotional poster for Season 10 of Modern Family. Words fail me,  this looks like they used Microsoft Windows 95,  Free Demo version of Paint. It's worse than the old Photoshop from North Korea or those bigoted  losers from the Westbro Church. Why does Phil have Donald Trump sized hands? Why does Joe  hae no fingers? Why are their faces taken from previous shoots? Why is Gloria that big and Ariel that small? Why do the Ice Creams look that Fake? Why is it so disproportionate? Why does Lily's face look so bad? Why does Lily's arm, not look like an arm? A second grade student could've done a better job. Its staggering that this could be that horrible. Who signed off of this? Has any Cast member said anything? Just plain weird!

Tom Arnold Called me a douche bag on Twitter

Image
Tom Arnold called me a Douche Bag on Twitter, then a massive 200 of his supporters, liked his tweet. What did I do to deserve being called a Douche Bag, I had done a tweet, and said "People like Tom Arnold, Claude Taylor and Louise Mensch don't help the cause. I firmly believe that.  Tom's TV show which he has called "Hunt for the trump tapes"  is self serving,  he has no tapes, he has no connections, but he is getting people's hopes up, that he will take Trump down. It's like Claude Taylor asking for donations so he can build more billboards, or Louise Mensch, who daily tweets out that arrests are coming,  Trump kids maybe? This type of behavior  doesn't help the cause.  Yet people will follow them on twitter, people will watch Tom's show in the false hope they're taking down Trump. Instead we should all be supporting young people like Emma Gonzalez and trying to get out the young vote, the people on the street who are door knocking, the actu...

Who Should Modern Family Kill off?

Image
So Modern Family is going to kill off a significant charterer in it's finale season, who will it be? Will it be one of these cases where it's someone who has only been in a handful of episodes, like  Dede? or Cam's sister or maybe, God forbid Pepper. Or will they have the courage to go there and kill off one of it's main actors, someone we are not expecting all?? I personally think it's not going to be a main family member or someone major, it's not going to be Jay, that would be too easy, maybe someone who isnt seen much but has a connection to all. I really think, we should be asking the question, who SHOULD  they kill off, and not who WILL they kill off. So here are my top picks on who they SHOULD kill off. 1:Joe. Yep it would create TV History a sitcom on a network show, killing off a little kid, it will be the most talked about moment since Henry Blake's helicopter spun over the sea of Japan. It will also be good for one reason, Disney own's ABC and ...

Do A Spin Off With Joe

Image
The parents of Child Actor,  Jeremy Maguire who plays Joe on Modern Family, runs his social media account. As the tenth and final season of Modern Family is due to hit screens in two months, they recently did a post on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag.... #doaspinoffwithjoe Now the post was tongue in check,  I'm also guessing it was done to test the social media waters. This will be a terrible idea for a show, because of one main reason,  the finale season of Modern family would concentrate on keeping this child actor in the spotlight,  thus taking away story lines from the core original cast. They deserve better, and the long term fans of the show deserve better. Disney  has given this kid, a contract, so it's also in their best interest that he has a lot of screen time during the final season, they need to keep him in the public eye. This will be so unfair to the viewer.  When you have a child actor, so young, in a comedy, the story lines become mor...

Dana Johannsen 2018's version of 1978's Brendan Telfer

Image
Meet 2018's version of Brendan Telfer, her name is Dana Johannsen, she used to be nzherald's main sports reporter she is now with Fairfax's  stuff's  website. If you would like to compare her to any other Journo, Brendan Telfer would be the one, like Brendan Telfer she has a history of lying about certain sports, and totally ignoring others. Bredan Telfer was the Journo who loved to tell the NZ public that Netball was this global sport. He loved to mock League calling the league world cup worthless, while cheering on any world cup victory in Netball, he would state Rugby is huge, league is nothing, yet wouldn't make the true comparison  with Netball and Basketball. Today stuff's, Dana Johannsen did this piece on how Netball which has long been the number one sport for girls is under threat from other sports, Rugby in particular, but she mentioned other sports as well are challenging Netball in New Zealand for girls. Yet, she didnt mention the main threat and tha...

The Death Of Modern Family

Image
The TV show Modern Family has died. It is currently into it's ninth season, and will have ten seasons, but  last night's episode was the day it officially died for me. The producers/writers have decided that their sole purpose is to make sure Disney has their next child star. Nothing against the child actor,  but he's just a pawn in a money making machine, sure its a faux doco, and the actors look at the camera, but this child actor has yet to figure out the times he is suppose to look at the camera and the times he isnt. But that's not my main beef  with the show and how they handle this actor. It use to be edgy, they use to write brillantly for their kid actors, now they have turned the show into some Disney Junior Full House show. Shot after shot, there is a close up of  Joe Pritchett's face, he may say lines like "I luv you mummy" or  "Im sorry" and the shot will linger on his big brown eyes. It's killed the show for me, I feel like I...

Image
Here are the contact details of the Paparazzi company known as SPLASH TV, that has been stalking Millie Bobby Brown the child actress from Stranger Things. Chris Martin, What are you doing here at a Closet Company in LA?

Image
It's Mental! Modern Family which is one my fav shows of my life time, may have jumped the shark or at least been pranked by Chris Martin. Thru it's first four seasons, I would've put Modern Family up there with the all time greats, MASH, Seinfeld and the Office (Both UK and US Versions) The next two seasons saw a drop in quality, the two seasons after that were literally quite poor, but this season, the show has bounced back. Until now, where it was announced that Chris Martin is visiting the Dunphy's. As soon as this was announced, comparison with Ricky Gervais's extras, came to light. The episode where Ricky Gervais was making a  point that having a celeb guest star in a sitcom is a sign that the sitcom has Jumped the Shark. I'm not sure how Modern Family will play his appearance, if it's a ode to Extras, or even handled in a different way than a sitcoms usual  "Guest Star playing himself" then it might work, but unfortunately it would seem, it m...

Stranger Things

Image
1980's, Best Decade Ever for kids. This is why Stranger Things is so damn popular. People my age can look back at our own childhood and teen years and identify with the show.  The Duffer brothers have got this down pact. Everything about the show takes me back. It's like a show that was made  for me in mind. I was a kid who got into Stephen King's short stories in the 80's and loved them because he wrote  10-17 year old's so well.  Even if the Duffer brothers themselves hadn't came out and said they were heavily influenced by King, you can tell. The arcade scenes from season 2 were brilliant, I remember playing those games, and hoping one day, my name would make the high score list, which I did once!!!  My crowning life  achievement. The Kid's like in IT, (Finn is amazing again) speak like kids spoke in 1980's, but it was also a more innocent time when it came to members of the oppostie sex,  no sexting back them. If I had just one small gripe with the...

Modern Family: Season 7 Episode 20 Review 'Promproposal'

Image
A funny funny episode, ten out of ten, once again spoiled by the  Disney theme of boys must date out of their league and girls must date below their league. Below is part of a post I did on April 7th. What I'm talking about is what they deem to be success for a young male and for a female in search of love. Luke and Manny are nerds, they arent attractive, yet it would appear they always get the hot girl, and the hot girl is always good for them, the stories are written like, this is what success should be for a young teen male. Yet the two main young female actresses, well success for them is to not to date the hot guy, but to infact date way way below their league.   So why is Modern family doing this? Why are they falling into the kinda creepy Disney trap of making boys being more successful and making success about how good looking your girlfriend is, but doing the exact opposite for the girls? Can someone tell me? Or am I reading too much into it??   Are the male writ...

'Line of Duty' Season 3: 'Episode 5' Review

Image
No need to lose your head over things, Lindsay Denton. The most hated woman on TV has been killed off. Denton is one of those characters that you don't love to hate, you just hate. Sure the money was going to be used to catch the bad guys, but she still is a cold calculating witch.  Thanks to the  Caddy, 'Dot Cotton' who decided for once and for all he better stop Denton before she can hit send on her cell phone and send the list to 'AC-12' Just a split  second too late, Dot, just a split second to late. Now we have young 'Steve Arnott' being fitted up as the Caddy, we have 'Ted Hastings' who seems to be in trouble thanks to a couple of handshakes and the only person who can piece this all together is the ever composed 'Kate Fleming' It also appears fans of the first two seasons will get the wrap up they want from season three. Not sure what Dot Cotton's best course of action will be now? First he has bits and pieces from the ruthless, Li...

Better Call Saul: Season 2 Finale

Image
There is a reason why Slate Magazine called Better Call Saul a better show than Breaking Bad and that is because it's a better show. The Finale lived up to what I expected, no one glued to their tv sets would've been disappointed where to begin? Well let me just say. Fuck Chuck. You egomaniac, it's always been about you, and you proving that your superior than your little brother, you acted nuts and fooled Jimmy, not because of what's right, but so you could justify how brilliant you are, you conned the con man huh, and not only are you going bring Jimmy down, but your going to destroy Kim also. I don't think there has ever been a better TV villain than Chuck McGill, you don't have to be over the top to be a villain, you don't need a great catchphrase, you don't have to be ultra violence to destroy someone's inner soul, and this is the type of person, Michael McKean has played so perfectly. Moving on to Mike Ehrmantraut, so cool so collective, but wh...

Line of Duty: Prediction

Image
Two episodes of the BBC drama, Line of Duty to go. I have a major prediction. Everybody's  favorite little man child will team up with everybody's favorite psychopath, Lindsay Denton. It will be like some bizarre version of The Odd Couple. Dot Cotton is going down, I don't think he is a pervo, but he has certainly covered up the crimes of officers and councilmen that are. As for Ted Hastings and his cheeky handshake, well that my friends, is one big red herring. It means nothing, he is just an old friend. Line of Duty has been by far the best police show on at the moment, its like the Anti Blue Bloods. Not many shows have you counting down the days till the next episode, apart from Better Call Saul. Just hoping that Denton somehow becomes good, and we get to find out what the heck is on her cellphone. Time will tell.

An Open Letter to Modern Family

Image
Why? I just don't get it. Why has the once Brilliant Modern Family fallen into the Disney trap with how it handles relationships of it's teen/20 something actors and actresses. Nearly every Disney movie or TV show will do the same, Modern family was different though, well different early on and in the seasons  3-5. Why are they falling into the kinda creepy Disney trap of making boys being more successful and making success about how good looking your girlfriend is, but doi...

Chumlee from the Reality Show 'Pawn Stars' Arrested and Jailed

Image
Saw it happening. The BS that is Pawn Stars, the show that is suppose to be real, that airs on the history channel. Is scripted BS. Everytime you heard Chumlee do a deal, and try and make 30 or 40 dollars for himself, you knew it meant nothing, because he was being paid $25 thousand dollars an episode. Yet the media lapped it up, the media called him a loveable slacker, he was billed as this nice guy, just trying to make a living, at his friend's dad's pawn shop. In reality, he was a sleaze, he stood by years ago as this  friends beat a man to a pulp, but when your worth 5  million you can get away with it. Still the history channel showed him, as his funny cute  guy who just loved to goofed off. When in  reality a lot  of his time was spent around Las Vegas's sleazier strip joints. Now hes been arrested, on weapons and drugs charges, he is also being invesitaged for a sexual assualt on a woman. This is not a guy you should care about. Yet people will. People wi...
