No, A Rugby Player didnt steal my Girlfriend

did over at Stuff's webpage.)

I dont follow field Hockey, but I dont dislike the sport and its fans
I dont follow Netball but I dont dislike the sport and the fans.
I dont follow Tennis, golf, and motor sport but I dont dislike the sport and the fans.

 Same cant be said for rugby. In my 40 odd years on earth, I have never meet a bunch of sports fans that are so so so precious about other sports, that have such a chip on their shoulder, when it comes to people who choose to follow another sport. If I hear "Whats the matter, did a rugby player steal your girlfriend", I will scream.

 I Have never had a League fan question me, why I love Basketball. I have never had a soccer fan question me, why I love basketball I have never had a cricket fan question me, why I love Basketball. Etc Etc Etc. But Rugby fans seem to think there must be a reason or an incident for why someone doesnt think their Rugby is the greatest sport on earth. I follow Basketball, because I was taken to a game at the age of 12, and loved it more than any other sport. It wasnt because I was brainwashed by America, as I have been told by rugby fans. It wasnt because Im not smart enough to love Rugby, as I have been told by Rugby fans. It wasnt because Im not big or strong or fast enough, to play or even like Rugby, as I have been told by Rugby fans. Its simply because I perfer the sport of Basketball.

Then you not only have that, you have the BS by our media, 24/7 telling kiwis how the world worships our All Blacks, the BS that the RWC is the third biggest sporting event on Earth (Its not even the third biggest sporting event this year) hell the 2011 handball final had bigger global tv ratings than the 2011 RWC final. I could kinda take that lie, but with it our media, and rugby fans have to knock other sports, that somehow all these countries that choose to play other sports, only do so, because their sports stars arent good enough to make it on the rugby field.

In the past few years a trend with the TVNZ is to turn any non rugby sports story and give it a Rugby reference and its not just sports stories they do this with. And now theres the PR overkill , there are songs, there are ads for every product available we are constantly having it rammed down our throats what Great guys the AB's are and that real kiwis love rugby. No other countries media feels the need to do this with their national sport, does the rugby media think we will forget its our national sport?

 So follow the world cup if you must, but if you work with or have friends, or overhear a conversation about League, Cricket, Soccer, Basketball, American Football, Tennis etc etc, maybe those people love their sport just as much, and maybe a rugby player actually didn't steal their girlfriend.

Over the past few years, I have occasionally gone over to the website, "The Spinoff" and nearly every time the website has left me in a state of confusion, when normally I am in a state of denial. The website seems to read like it's coming from the old "Social Credit" party manifesto, but that isn't what confuses me, I guess the easiest way to explain is to give examples. Hey Kid Get Ya Feet off the Table

Words fail me, but I'm going to write something anyway. I kinda blame society for thinking that kids taking Selfie's is a great idea, and it breeds confidence, I actually think it breeds obnoxious. I was in a pub/restaurant not so long ago, and this group of people were there, mainly adults, ages ranged from about 65 to around 12. They were all nicely dressed, there were two kids, one a girl in her teens and a boy aged about 12, he seemed to be better dressed than the adults, he had one of those bowler hats on. Anyway, I was there with my group, there were two other groups there at the time. This kid had decided to play a rather loud game on his cell phone, loud enough that everyone else turned around to see where the noise was coming from, he for some reason, was nodding his head up and down saying "Yeah yeah" like he just achieved something really important. NOT A SECRET SOCIETY

The picture above doesn't show a Secret Society, it doesn't show people who are part of an exclusive club that has been around for 100's of years. There is not going to be a Line of Duty type investigation into these boys, there won't be a movie made into their life's, none of the people pictured are special. There is no wild antics that  they do, that will be talked about for centuries. They wont become Prime Minister. They're nothing like the Masons, the police aren't debating should they arrest them or not because who their daddies are. Yet the New Zealand Media once again get it wrong, by dramatizing their behavior and giving it a cute nickname, leading people to believe, "Wow is this like Billionaire Boys club", or that English movie which shows the Elite acting badly" Please tell us More!!!!
